Again, these coating types look similar to the ones discussed previously. However, the floors covered with these coatings are friction resistant, preventing static electricity from building up on the surface, for static charges could be hazardous in, for example, computer rooms, electromechanical industries, laboratories (chemistry, biology, electronics), special medical premises (tomography, magnetic resonance diagnostics, endoscopy).

To obtain antistatic quality, special metal strings are installed under the coating, which is then glued to the floor together with a current conducting thick coating, which contains special metal fibres (for conducting electricity).

To protect the floor, current conducting waxes are recommended; and for day-to-day maintenance of antistatic floors special cleaning agents are available.
